For our first external trip of 2023 The Friends of Westminster Cathedral will be visiting The London Oratory (nr. South Kensington). By kind permission of The Fathers and Brothers of The London Oratory, we will enjoy tours of both the church and the sacristy, before adjourning to St Wilfrid’s Hall for drinks.

The London Oratory, built between 1880-1884 is the Church of the Congregation of the Oratory of St Philip Neri, and is the second-largest Catholic church in London. St Philip Neri (1515-1595) founded the Congregation of the Oratory in Rome – and the Congregation now comprises approximately seventy houses and five-hundred priests around the world. For more information on this most notable church, see History of the Church — The London Oratory (bromptonoratory.co.uk)

This promises to be an excellent and informative trip, and not one to be missed.

Tickets, strictly limited to 25, are priced at £15, with proceeds going towards the fundraising work of The Friends of Westminster Cathedral.
