On Saturday 13 September, the John Bradburne Memorial Society will celebrate the life and cause of Servant of God and former Cathedral Sacristan John Bradburne, with a Mass at 2pm and a ticketed reception in Cathedral Hall (Ambrosden Avenue), from 3pm to 5pm.
The self-described ‘Vagabond of God’, John spent his final days as a lay Franciscan in Mutemwa, Rhodesia, caring for those with leprosy. By refusing to abandon the helpless, he was martyred by guerrilla forces, and is now on the path to canonisation.
All are welcome to attend the Mass, and tickets for the exhibition, refreshments, entertainment and talks are available here.
