As Catholics, we believe that Christ is fully present in the host and receiving the Eucharist for the first time is, therefore, a deeply profound and faithful moment which requires careful preparation. The Cathedral offers a First Holy Communion course for children in the Cathedral parish aged between 7 and 10 years (Year 3).

The course, which starts in the autumn and concludes in the early summer, takes into account school holidays. Details of how to apply are announced at Masses and are available in the Cathedral Newsletter in early summer.
