Mass & Divine Office

Even before the completion of the main fabric of the Cathedral, Cardinal Herbert Vaughan had a very clear vision of its spiritual life. Vaughan saw the need for the Cathedral to be a bastion of faith and he stipulated that the complete liturgy of the Roman Rite should be celebrated daily, in public, in as full a form as possible. Whilst there have been changes over the last century, Westminster Cathedral continues to fulfil Vaughan's vision and offers the liturgy of the Roman Rite in a way that does justice to his legacy and to the richness of the traditions of Western Catholicism.
